I would have never thought I would see the sight. I was walking through High Park in Toronto Ontario Canada looking at the bushes and what did I see but two deer. It was a dark day and these deer where under the buses feeding. All in all it was a magical moment for me as we gazed into each others eyes and time seem to stand still. I had been told there is supposed to be deer in High Park but I nobody I know has ever seen any so I was thrilled.

Captive American Kestrel
I went to the Colonel Samuel Smith First Birding Festival On Saturday and saw some lovely raptor's from the University of Guelph including this lovely kestrel. Not that I wanted to see these lovely animals harrased but they did not like dogs and I was glad to see that some people might have got the news that wild birds and dogs do not mix. Spent most of my time looking at this lovely fellow and watching the turkey vulture spreads it wing around the young lady that was holding him so they looked like they were on a date

Little Wild Bunny Rabbit goes for a walk
Little Wild Bunny Rabbit goes for a walk
Little Bunny goes for a walk by the credit river Mississuaga
I am so mad. A wild bunny rabbit died in our backyard because somebody's dog attacked it. So I went down to the river and buried it and put a stone over top of it and somebody moved the stone and let there dog at least attempt to dig up my poor dead wild bunny. I thought I had laid him nicely to rest
So this is a tribute to that poor bunny

I am mad
This is a photo of an american tree sparrow I took at the Hendrie Valley Marsh BoardWalk in Hamilton. I am so mad that I got squeezed out of my spot my one photographer on one side of me smoking a european cigarello or cigarette and another photographer on the other side of me smoking a cigar. They are going to give the birds lung cancer. I was there for a long time before they arrived and I do not mind sharing but since I am allergic to smoke I eventually had to leave. I am mad at myself for letting them squeeze me out. How can you commune with nature with a cigar in your hand. People can be so inconsiderate at times. The other thing I want to say is that I love my wife dearly and to thank her for putting up with me.

Colonel Samuel Smith Park
The hardest thing to figure out is when to go out to take photos and when not to and to figure out what to photograph. This is a photo I took at Sam smith park after the Marine unit left. It was really windy and cold on Sunday. The waves where crashing on the rocks coating them in ice. I think this photo is nice because the wave trough mirrors the rocks

sparrows
My work at Front and Portland is a great place to take closeup photos of sparrows. They are not shy of human beings and you can get very close without scaring them away. They are little urbanites. Shooting sparrows in an urban environment is interesting and different. During the spring season you can get good shots of baby sparrows that nest in my building. a blurred background gives a nice photo
Perch Selection
It is funny how you learn new things. When I started photography I never thought of perch selection. Now you need to think of where the bird is , what the bird is perched on , what the background is and the more you control all those things the better the photo. Wow so much to think about. This is a rather proud merlin from Mountsberg Raptor Centre again from the Ray Barlow workshop I went on
